Emirates Palace was built as a state guest palace and opened as a hotel in 2005. Mandarin Oriental took over management in 2020. The official page now presents it as a beach resort as much as a grand address.

The resort sits on the western edge of the Abu Dhabi Corniche along a 1.3 kilometre private beachfront, beside Qasr Al Watan, the Presidential Palace.
