Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque opened in 2007 and is the largest mosque in the UAE. It is a working place of worship that welcomes visitors of all faiths between prayers. It is also built to be seen: white marble, courtyards, reflecting pools and one of the largest hand knotted carpets in the world inside the main hall.

The Centre's official site reported 6,846,723 guests in 2025, its highest annual figure. Alongside the mosque the site lists a souq with more than 68 outlets and a light and sound experience called Diya.

Late afternoon into dusk is the visit to plan. The marble changes colour with the light and the domes are lit after sunset. Arrive with time to walk the courtyard before the galleries close.
